Easy Tips To Attract Home Buyers – Tip Two

Remove furniture but don’t take out too much

Living Room/Family Room:
Remove some furniture and then remove some more, advises Stephen Sczubelek, “Everything you take out makes it seem larger,” he says.   Have that sale…..then another!

You don’t want leave it empty, though. It makes the room seem sterile — a big no-no, as selling a house is about not only space but lifestyle. A lack of furniture makes it difficult for buyers to visualize how their stuff will fit in a room.

Focus the furniture around an architectural detail like a fireplace. Keep it away from the walls and angle it.

Also, get rid of personal photos and keep surfaces clean. Use the rule of three, which means no more than three items on any surface. You need artwork, but make it as accessible as possible, so no avant-garde paintings or wedding pictures. You’re trying to appeal to the mass audience, says Sczubelek, so get into the mode of WWPBD — What Would Pottery Barn Do?

Oh, for those that must move and leave the home vacant, don’t give up…. you have the option of hiring a interior home stager to bring in items to wow the buyers or realize that the optimum solution may just that be feasible for you.  Vacant homes still sell.

If you’d like me to come out to look at your home or bring a professional home stager, just let me know.
