When we are young, nothing can touch us…. when we grow up, we know that life can throw us a curve ball; yet attempt to control it…. and when our parents age and become sick, we learn how important it is to just be in the moment with them.
As many know, scrapbooking is about keeping memories alive through the photographs and the journalling…. and it is something I really enjoy to do. My father has dementia associated with Parkinson's Disease and I created a heritage album in the hopes it would arrest his memory decline.
So, of course, a great resource for me is the Alzheimer's Association of San Diego and I wanted to let others know about the next fundraising event that will showcase art by those with dementia/Alzheimer's….
